I write original music for concert venues and multimedia productions. I also collaborate with dancers and film makers, and several of my works have been choreographed and performed. I work with electronic media as well, using DAWs and tools such as MaxMSP and Kyma. When I write music, I view the process as a collaborative effort between myself and the artists bringing my work to life. I enjoy not only creating the music itself, but integrating my work into a larger purpose that performers and audiences alike can connect with.
Jacobs Composition Academy Summer Intensive Program
The Jacobs Composition Academy Summer Intensive is a five-week program for composers of all ages, with a primary objective of nurturing a diverse community. The program features instruction by composition doctoral candidates and distinguished guest composers such as Joan Tower, Don Freund, Shawn Okpebholo, and Amy Beth Kirsten. Designing and running this program was among the highlight of my doctoral studies, and I am proud of how it has developed, having recently completed its second season and a total of 39 student premieres. I continue to serve as the current Program Director.

Random Access Music (RAM)
As an appointed RAM composer, I work with a New York City–based collective that champions contemporary music through collaborative programming and performances. RAM fosters a dynamic and supportive community of composers and performers dedicated to creating and presenting new music, encouraging innovation, and engaging with audiences.

Good Beats
I also work as an arranger and am currently partnered with Good Beats, an organization based in Washington DC that organizes community events at fundraisers, hospitals, schools, and nursing homes, connecting classical music with pop, hip-hop, film, and game music for wide audiences. I have created arrangements for Good Beats performances across a wide range of styles, from composers such as Tchaikovsky to artists such as Michael Jackson.

East–West Collaboration
This project began when I reached out to the Jacobs School of Music’s Office of Entrepreneurship and Development to discuss expanding the repertoire of mixed Eastern and Western instrumentation. One year later, I founded the East-West Collaboration, a grant-winning international initiative selecting four composers at the Jacobs School of Music to write chamber pieces combining traditional Chinese instruments and Western orchestral instruments. The program culminated in a residency at the Zhejiang Conservatory in Hangzhou, China, where the new works were all premiered and featured in online media coverage. East-West Collaboration not only gave composers the opportunity to write for unique instrumentations and performers the chance to engage with rising contemporary voices, but also strengthened ties between Jacobs and Zhejiang Conservatory, laying groundwork for future partnerships.
